We're excited about our careers in the Food Industry...and we want to share the excitement with you! Wednesday, May 20 is our first NEIFT Education Luncheon...your chance to learn about potential futures in our industry and bring this information home to your students.
The NEIFT (Northeast section, Institute of Food Technologist) is a non-profit association for professionals in the food industry...including production/plant managers, sanitation and quality professionals, compliance officers, research scientists, application technogists and more. It even includes, dare we say it, salespeople! The industry offers careers that are interesting, stable and fairly compensated. Even in times of recession, most areas of our industry are "holding their own" or even growing!
Our mission is to support the growth of the food industry in our geographic area, the New England states (except Connecticut, which has its own section). To achieve that goal, we actively solicit the participation of our student members and offer them meeting discounts, activity sponsorship, food science club subsidies and annual scholarships. This support totals over $20,000 a year, funded by our Corporate Membership program and annual Food Industry Expo.
