The impact of technological progress on our standard of living is often taken for granted until our way of life is challenged, apparent in the current uncertainties we face economically and socially. Maggi-Smith Dalton from the Salem History Society will give a talk on U.S. Colonial and Federal period food-ways, highlighting Salem and Essex County, and the importance of understanding how the needs of the people in the
colonial period shaped the technological advances enjoyed today.
